Once we have agreed your brief, we work closely with our partners in Sweden, Switzerland or the UK to authentically and accurately create your wishes.
We don’t have a production line, nothing is automated. We have experienced hands that know their craft. And it shows in every cut and joint.
Your lodge is hand assembled in our workshop. Every component is then labelled creating a precise kit of parts to travel to you. Nothing is left to chance, nothing improvised, nothing compromised.
Shokk&Awe’s installation team arrive on your site to meet the delivery of your sauna. Experienced and adroit, they take the precise kit – your lodge - and reassemble it on your chosen place, as if it has always been there. The Westwood sauna is simply lifted into place. It’s time to turn the heat up.
Taking your brief.
First, we meet you on site to survey it and understand how you want to use it. Is your lodge fitting in with other structures – a walled garden maybe? Is it by an ancient stream surrounded by meadows? Or are you in a size pressurised urban setting? Every environment dictates design.
Understanding the space, we then define the brief and prepare clear designs for your approval – Småland, Gstaad or Westwood. We can show you the different character the range of finishes and details to inspire.
All our saunas sit off the ground and we ask that our clients prepare the simple ground works following Shokk&Awe’s guidelines before we arrive. Any difficulties of course we are there to help.
The Craft.
Honest Materials
With lodges built entirely with wood, it is only right that the whole tree is milled and used. The strongest timber, cut from the dense heartwood at the tree's core, faces outward, taking the appearance and weather head on.
Hand Made
Each dovetail joint is meticulously axed by hand. Every angle is expertly cut to push rain away from the walls. Every joint is unique yet fits perfectly. No silicone. No shortcuts. Just a sense of completeness.
Built to Last
Every Småland or Gstaad lodge arrives as a precision-engineered kit, built on-site by our team. The Westwood sauna is built off site arriving ready to go. The only thing left for you to do is step inside and feel the heat.

Shokk&Awe's installation team arrives on site and rebuilds your lodge as if it has always been there.
Day One
Foundations set in stone. By sunset, the base is true, the floor is laid and the first layer stands.
Day Two
The walls rise. Timber stacked, dovetails locked, the roof structure secure.
Day Three
The roof receives its shield - a steel roof. Windows set, vents fitted, cladding complete.
