Wiltshire Sauna Build by Shokk&Awe
Out of the blue we got an excited call from Sophie. “I’ve been looking for you for 2 years, an authentic sauna with an agricultural tin roof. The perfect fit for our new home.” Sophie’s passive home is an old brick farm developed into a contemporary pavilion built from the earth used for making bricks. Beautiful wood detailing, raw earth walls and an agricultural tin roof sits naturally overlooking the Wiltshire hills.
The clay pits are now filled with water and are established natural lakes, the perfect spot for a sauna.
As keen horse riders and drag hunters Sophie and husband spend the days out hunting. On their return they recover with a pre heated sauna and outdoor shower. The sauna is fitted with a remote controlled 18kg huum electric stove powered by a three phase system.
Visiting Sophie a few months after installation she was just as excited. They sauna three or four times a week, it’s transformed their lives and Sophie no longer suffers from arthritic hands. The sauna is also enjoyed by family and friends.
